Children, Teens, and Family

Ongoing support is essential for children, teens, parents, and families coping with challenges during those years of growth.  We know you want your children to be happy, to listen, and have a solid foundation in the home. Here are some therapy options we provide:

Therapy with Young Children

Play is the primary means by which a child learns about and interacts with their world.  Young children often do not have the language skills needed to express their thoughts and feelings, and therefore utilize play to express themselves.  Our therapists utilize play techniques, behavior modification, or talk therapy to work with children in a way that is most conducive to the growth of their emotional and mental health. Additionally, we provide support and resources for parents who are experiencing difficulties or concerns regarding their child(ren).

Therapy with Teenagers

Teens face unique challenges when they transition from children to adolescence. Their attitude and behavior are indicators if your teen is struggling. Our therapists utilize cognitive, behavioral, and supportive therapies depending upon which will work best for the particular situation/teen. We are here to help your teen work through anxiety, anger, lying, cheating, stealing, depression, or even bullying. Our counselors support teens and their families, encourage, empathize, and help make life work.

Therapy with Families

Effective and consistent support from family members is an important part of a young person’s progress through personal and family issues. A child’s therapy usually progresses much better when parents and other family members are involved. The child’s world is the family and anything that changes in the child will also impact the family dynamic and vice versa. Therapy involving some or all family members will improve the welfare of the entire home.
